1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the CalorieLens mobile application (the "App") or our website (calorielens.org), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use CalorieLens.
2. Medical and Nutritional Disclaimer
CalorieLens is not a medical device or healthcare provider. All nutritional estimates, calorie breakdowns, and dietary insights provided by our AI food recognition engine are intended solely for general informational, educational, and personal wellness tracking purposes.
AI estimates are approximations based on visual data and may vary depending on portion sizes, preparation methods, and ingredients. The App is not intended to prevent, diagnose, monitor, or treat any medical condition, eating disorder, or nutritional deficiency.
Always consult a licensed physician, registered dietitian, or qualified healthcare professional before beginning any diet, weight loss program, or lifestyle changes. Never disregard professional medical advice because of information provided by the App.
3.Subscriptions & Auto-Renewal Terms
CalorieLens provides both a free tier (with limited daily AI scans) and paid subscription options ("CalorieLens Pro") for unlimited food scans, advanced analytics, and premium features.
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID Account (for iOS) or Google Play Account (for Android) at confirmation of purchase. Prices are displayed in your local currency inside the App prior to purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew for the same duration and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing cycle. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Free Trial Period
If offered, any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription. To avoid being charged, you must cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before the free trial period ends.
Managing and Cancelling Subscriptions
You can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal at any time in your device account settings:
- iOS: Go to iPhone / iPad Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > CalorieLens > Cancel Subscription.
- Standard Apple EULA: In addition to these Terms, our iOS app is subject to Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA) at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.
4.Use of the Service & User Conduct
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the applicable age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use CalorieLens.
- You agree to use the App solely for lawful personal, non-commercial purposes.
- You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or proprietary AI models of the App.
- You agree not to abuse, overburden, or disrupt our cloud infrastructure or AI processing pipelines.
5.Image Processing & Intellectual Property
When you take or upload food photographs, they are transmitted securely and processed in real time solely to generate nutritional estimates. We do not claim ownership of your photos, and we do not permanently store or retain your images on our servers.
All software, designs, algorithms, trademarks, and logos associated with CalorieLens are the exclusive property of CalorieLens.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CalorieLens and its creators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or personal injury resulting from your access to, use of, or inability to use the App or any nutritional estimates provided therein.
7. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When changes occur, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. Continued use of the App following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
